4th Energy Transition and Emission Reduction for the Metals and Mining Industry
Hosted by: Future Bridge
Date & time: September 21-22, 2023
Location: Toronto, Canada
More information

This two-day event will provide valuable insights into the latest trends and innovations in sustainable mining, green steel practices as well as strategies for reducing emissions and transitioning to renewable energy sources.

In light of ambitious emissions targets the decarbonisation of the mining and metal industry is becoming increasingly critical in addressing climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The industry has significant challenges to overcome in order to achieve net-zero emissions, but it is possible with a concerted effort and the implementation of appropriate strategies and technologies. When keeping up with high demand mining companies and steel producers are being responsible for a significant portion of global carbon emissions due to its energy-intensive processes and reliance on fossil fuels.

The forum will bring together experts, industry leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability in the sector. There will be a focus on exploring various strategies and technologies for decarbonising mining and metal production processes, as well as the economic and social implications of these efforts.

Imposter Syndrome Workshop
Hosted by: Womens Leadership Intensive
Date & time: September 27, 2023
Location: Virtual

Imposter Syndrome moments are human and impact us all. Those moments of self-doubt and wondering if we belong are universal. However, there is also a systemic component to imposter syndrome. When we don’t see ourselves represented in certain spaces, we are more likely to experience imposter syndrome. This means we don’t all experience imposter syndrome equally or in the same ways.

In this workshop, we’ll discuss what imposter syndrome is, what contributes to it, and how to manage and overcome it when it happens. We’ll share examples of how, when and why it shows up, and invite participants to share experiences of imposter syndrome in their own work and lives.

Date & time: Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 @ 12:30 PM ET
Location: online (Zoom)

**This event will be in both French and English

Mining organizations are expanding their equity, diversity and inclusion efforts. In some cases, the industry has attempted to tackle this issue by attracting women from collegial organizations. This is not necessarily a holistic or sustainable approach and will not increase equity across the sector. As well these mandates typically apply to corporate positions and do not address the lack of female representation in the mining supply chain.

Artemis Project offers an alternative approach to this industry challenge. Through our gender-responsive procurement programs, we act as a vehicle for mining organizations to fortify their supply chains in an aggregated fashion with a vetted pool of female entrepreneurs providing a wide range of professional services and products from mine to market.
